The Associated Students of Citrus College executive board has recently introduced the idea of banning smoking on campus and will soon send out an interview via student email to gauge student feedback.
We went out and asked some Citrus College students what they thought:

“Though I am a smoker, I think it’s a necessity to ban smoking on campus just for the thought of others and how harmful secondhand smoke can be.”
Lizette Barraga, 20
Major: Biology
“I don’t think there should be a ban on smoking. It’s not that big of an issue. They should just have designated areas.”
Ian Rodrigues, 21
Major: Political Science
“I don’t think there should be a ban on smoking. We all pay to be here and they should not be able to tell us what to do outside of the parameters of the laws.”
Abby Carrillo, 20
Major: Biology
“They shouldn’t ban it. Though I don’t smoke, I still think that they should just have areas for smoking.”
Sam Saavedra, 21
Major: Architecture
“I think that they should have a private area for smoking. They are taking consideration on non-smokers, but they should also consider smokers.”

My fiance has Asthma and has to hold her breath when passing those that do smoke on campus. Most do not observe the 20 feet from a bulding entrance to smoke. If there could be an area away from those that are non-smokers would be great, i think they should have the right to smoke on campus but away from others. Life is all about Simple Respect, respect those that do not smoke, respect those that do smoke. Smoking is a vice, and other vices are not allowed, like alcohol and marijuana but are not allowed on campus.
