Changes Coming to Citrus College Board of Trustees

Updated 8/24/20, 4:59 PM to correct a claim regarding Trustee Rasmussen. An earlier post had stated that they would not be running for reelection, however, their current term ends in 2024 and would not have been up for a vote this year.

During Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting, Trustee Barbara Dickerson announced her early resignation as the representative for Area 1 of the Citrus Community College District, which includes Azusa and parts of Duarte. Elected in 2013, Dr. Dickerson also served as a trustee representative on the Los Angeles County School of Trustees Association and will be resigning from this position as well.

“It’s been my honor to serve as a trustee for Area 1, and over those past seven years I’ve found the residents in area one engaging… I love talking about the successes of our students and the college in the community,” she said during the meeting.

Trustee Dickerson previously served the Azusa Unified School District Board of Education for eight years and used her knowledge of K-12 learning in her district to improve the lives of collegiate-level students.

Trustee Joanne Montgomery of Area 5 and Trustee Susan Keith of Area 2 have terms expiring in November of this year and are not seeking reelection, leaving three of five positions open on the Board of Trustees this year.
