Developing story

This story was updated 2:15 p.m. March 16 to reflect the library will be open in regular schedule from March 16 through April 6.

Citrus College closed the campus for all students. The Hayden Memorial Library will remain open for students to use the computers, WiFi and reserve a study room.

“We’re operating as usual and maintain regular services,” Sarah Bosler, the public services librarian said in a phone call on March 16.

Bosler said librarians will provide research-related services remotely to students starting March 18. Bosler also said she is in the process of determining with the Dean of Language Arts and Library Dr. Gina Hogan whether students would be able to check-out books.

Bosler said the library will be open from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Friday and will remain closed on weekends.

The closure of Citrus College is tentatively effective March 16 through April 6.

The alert was sent out to students at about 9:14 p.m. March 15. The alert was also sent out through Citrus Mobile.

The alert also said remote services will still be available and refers students to the Citrus College website for those details.

Students will no longer be able to meet their professors during office hours on campus.

The college will remain open for all employees; it has not been determined whether or not the college will remain open to student employees as well.
