Citrus international students have not had F-1 visas terminated

No international student F-1 visas have been terminated from students at Citrus College thus far.

Various news outlets and institutions have been reporting visas being revoked this week at universities and community colleges, including several in California.

International student technician Michael Aguilar said the Citrus has received nothing from SIVAS, Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, about student visas being revoked or if this will happen to students at Citrus.

Aguilar said most questions the International Student Center have been receiving from students are about travel. He said to their knowledge, traveling out of the country is still safe.

Since the college has received no information from SIVAS, they do not plan on releasing any statement.

UndocuLiaison Yridia Ayvar Aceves from the Citrus College DREAM Resource Center said the center deals with DACA, TPS and U-visa, visas for undocumented students.

She said the center has received questions from students that are concerned they will not be here to graduate next year.

Aceves said she encourages any students with concerns or questions to use their resources and come to them with any further questions.  The center is located in the Campus Center, room 127.

They can be contacted through email at drc@citruscollege.edu or their office phone at 626- 857-4048.
