Restaurant brings a delectable twist to waffles

If looking for a warm and welcoming atmosphere with quality food and approachable staff, Wahfles is an experience that is time worthy.

Upon walking in, the dim lights, maroon and wood panel walls and relaxing music immediately provide serenity. Walls covered with paintings constantly gives the eye something to look at with couches to keep comfortable. The couches can be used to dine or just to sit tight while waiting for food to take home. Next to the couches lies a bookshelf, for those who would rather read than to look at the artwork. The wood panel walls and tables complement the maroon walls and gray tiles to give the place a modern cabin feel when inside.

But feelings of satisfaction do not stop here.

The menu consists of different types of drinks and waffles. The drinks available are coffee, espresso,  house-made ice teas and fresh lemonades. Two types of waffles, sweet waffles and rosemary waffle sandwiches, are on the menu with over 20 choices of waffles in total.

The owner, Jeff Rotondo, is knowledgeable about the menu and goes out of his way to converse and connect with his customers. After his descriptions of ingredients and taste of everything on the menu, the decision between over 20 waffles became effortless.

The Wilbur is presented with a waffle cut diagonally with coleslaw on the side. The smell of ham, cheese, bacon, and the honey mustard sauce intertwined was mouthwatering. The compactness of all of the ingredients made it easy to eat without anything slipping out while taking a bite. Ham and bacon with the Swiss and sharp cheddar cheese fill each bite, with the honey mustard sauce making the composition complete. Although all of these ingredients made the waffle a bit greasy, the taste was savory. Eating the waffle is simple and satisfying as each bite easily melted in my mouth.

The raspberry lemonade was both refreshing and delicious. People with a sweet tooth can easily fall in love with this drink.

Wahfles is a restaurant that definitely deserves to be experienced. The experience itself was savory and is a taste and place that is easy to constantly revisit.

Wahfles resides on 1502 Foothill Blvd, La Verne, CA 91750.
