“A Night Of Music in Film” put the audience on their feet

Citrus College’s Visual and Performing Arts division presented “A Night of Music from Film” at the Haugh Performing Arts center bringing Broadway musicals to the stage during their two night performance. The performances ended with the audience clapping at every chance they could.

The program highlighted seven different movies and played a variety of songs from each film that I’m sure we are all familiar with. The films where Broadway Showstoppers Overture, My Fair Lady, The Lion King, Sound of Music, Sweeney Todd, Mary Poppins and Westside story.

The Citrus College 60 piece Sierra Wind Symphony, conducted by Maurice Limon, and the Citrus soloist joined together to bring musical moments from Broadway and Hollywood’s most memorable collaborations.

The Dean of Visual and Performing Arts, John Vaughan, gave an introduction of the program to the audience and also introduced each film with a short biography of the film and songs performed.
