Future study abroad trips canceled for protection towards COVID-19

A correction was made 12:15 p.m. April 6 to this story to reflect that the winter semester to Paris, France have not been cancelled, and to include the spring semester to Madrid, Spain is still happening. 

A correction was made 12:23 p.m. April 6 to reflect the fall 2020 semester study abroad trip to Rome, Italy was cancelled as well.

The Study Abroad program canceled the semester to go Oslo, Norway for summer 2020 and Rome, Italy for fall 2020. 

The 90-day winter 2021 semester in and Paris, France and the spring 2021 semester in Madrid, Spain have not been postponed. As of right now, students are still able to go on the Citrus website and apply for the winter semester. 

Citrus College has taken steps toward ensuring student and staff safety in the long term such as the cancellation of classes and a transition to remote online schooling.

With the international outbreak of COVID-19 colleges and universities around California have cancelled class or switched to a digital alternative within study abroad programs to combat the risk of spreading the virus.
