Campus Question: What does Pride Month mean to you?

From left, Andrew Gonzalez, Alyssa Juezan Slater, Michelle Lordi, Isabella Chavez, Richard Dominguez and Jonathan Reyes pose for photo on June 1 by the Campus Center.

“I see it as the achievements of what can be possible if we fight for what we believe in and the causes that we want to fight for. … Overall though I think like pride it’s just a celebration of all of those achievements, and just our future in general as a community and what we stand for.”

Jonathan Reyes, architectural design

“It’s the time of year where I really get to be happy about who I am and like how I got here and like the decisions I made to get here.”

Richard Dominguez, forestry

“I feel like you know we should be able to celebrate pride all year other than just one simple month.”

Andrew Gonzalez, English

“It shines light on people who are in the LGBTQ community to like just come out and express yourself and be who they are.”

Isabella Chavez, kinesiology/gender studies
