A campus-wide lockdown drill will take place on Sept. 22. The time frame for the drill is 10 a.m. to noon, but the drill itself is expected to be done within an hour.
Students and staff are not expected to evacuate during the drill. However, campus safety expects everyone to treat the drill as if it was a real emergency.
For anyone that is outside when the drill starts, campus safety asks students and staff to go to the nearest safe building and wait there until further instructions.
For anyone inside it is advised to lock all the doors, turn off the lights and silence all phones. The goal of this is to seem as if no one was in the room. All safety responders will have keys to gain entry if they need to so there is no reason to answer or unlock the doors.
When Citrus Alert or the Alertus system gives the “All Clear” everyone can continue as normal.
