Superintendent/president Schulz welcomes students to new academic year

Dear Students,

Welcome to the fall 2023 semester! Whether you are a new or returning student, we are glad that you are with us and I commend you for deciding to pursue a college education. As you will see, Citrus College is the perfect place for students looking to transfer to a four-year college or university, prepare for a new career, or expand their knowledge and skills.

For more than a century, our dedicated team of faculty and staff has helped tens of thousands of students achieve their academic, professional and personal dreams. Our campus community is committed to ensuring students have the best possible in-person and online educational experiences, and we are thrilled that you have chosen Citrus College to be your educational home.

At Citrus College, we currently offer 77 associate degrees, 34 associate degrees for transfer, and 119 certificates and skill awards. With programs ranging from architecture and automotive technology to vocational nursing and water technology, I am confident you will find a career pathway that will excite you. Throughout your academic journey, I encourage you to stay in touch with our counselors and advisors – they will help you develop and follow an educational plan to achieve your goals.

In the weeks ahead, I also recommend that you check out the many resources available on campus, including the Student Wellness Center. Located in the Student Services Building, the center offers health care and mental health services to enrolled students. The Campus Center is another great resource that offers students access to food and transportation assistance, student support grants and other services. Other valuable resources on campus include financial aid, student affairs and the Career/Transfer Center, to name a few.

As a Citrus College student, you have access to a variety of tools and support that can make all the difference as you pursue your goals. Throughout your academic journey, I encourage you to meet new people and make connections on campus. Also, remember to check your student e-mail and our social media channels throughout the semester for details regarding these and other college activities. If your schedule permits, I hope you will consider attending one of my open office hours – held in-person or via Zoom – during the 2023-2024 academic year.

Once again, I would like to thank you for choosing Citrus College. I look forward to seeing you this fall and I hope you have a terrific fall semester!

Sincerely,

Greg Schulz, Ed.D.

Superintendent/President of Citrus College
