From organizing new events to encouraging student input, newly elected members of the Associated Students of Citrus College say they want to build a more connected and inclusive campus.
Senators Alejandra Galaz and Regina Azcorra said they want to bring a variety of events to campus and involve students in the decision-making process.

“I would love to make a stress relief event during finals time, along with more cultural celebrations to make students feel included,” Galaz said.
In addition to planning events, Galaz said student outreach is a key part of her role as a senator. She emphasized the importance of creating open lines of communication between student leaders and the broader campus community.
“Students should feel encouraged to come up to any of the ASCC members and share ideas they have or how to make our community a better place,” Galaz said. “Students can also message me through Instagram at aalejandragalaz and send ideas there, because if you have an idea or vision, we want to hear it.”
Azcorra also highlighted the importance of student involvement and staying informed about campus events. She said attending meetings is one of the easiest ways for students to have their voices heard.

“Coming to the weekly ASCC meetings on Tuesdays is really helpful to know what’s going on with our campus,” Azcorra said.
The meetings are every other Tuesday at 2:40 p.m. in the Campus Center, Room CC-111.
Azcorra said she aims to maintain strong communication with fellow ASCC members to address student concerns and brainstorm future plans.
