Citrus College baseball (30-10) will open the postseason at home on May 1. The Owls are riding an 11-game winning streak going into a three-team regional bracket playoff.
The Owls will host Pasadena City College (23-17) and Cypress College (26-14) in a double-elimination format, where each team must lose twice to be eliminated.
Pasadena and Cypress will be the first to play at 11 a.m. May 1. Citrus will then face the loser of that game later in the day, at 3 p.m., meaning the Owls will not see the winner until later in the bracket. From there, the tournament continues through the weekend, with teams fighting to stay out of the elimination round.
With only three teams, the setup puts pressure on every game. One loss does not end a season. If Citrus loses, they will play at 11 a.m. on May 2 at home. If they win, they will play at 1 p.m. on May 2 at home.
