Less than a week is left to apply to be a part of Citrus’ Associated Students of Citrus College Board for the 2026-27 academic year.

The student government allows a chance for students on campus the opportunity to make an impact on Citrus College. The ASCC portion of Citrus’ website says that the ASCC board members “influence campus decisions, advocate for your peers, develop leadership skills, make new friends, and manage a budget of more than $450,000.”

Positions that are open for applications consist of president, vice president, legislative liaison, senator (seven positions), and student trustee. Other positions can be applied for at a later time, which include treasurer, senator, commissioner of activities, commissioner of athletics, commissioner of inter club council, and commissioner of public relations. These positions will be appointed by the upcoming president.

Requirements for applying are listed in the application. Final applications are due March 29.

ASCC President Henoch Perez said his position was a very rewarding experience and that there is much to gain for those interested in applying to student government.

“You get to learn a lot about a diverse group of people while you’re working forward, representing the student body,” he said. “It’s challenging, but at the same time, it develops a lot of skills, and it brings out the best in people. So I would definitely recommend it to students. Your voice matters, and your experiences matter, and that’s who we need here at student government.”

Anyone with questions regarding the student government can call 626-852-6444, email studentlife@citruscollege.edu, or visit them in person at the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development in the Campus Center, CC 106.
