The Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees hosted its annual recognition reception on May 6 at Hayden Hall, honoring 24 faculty and staff members who achieved tenure or entered retirement during the 2025–2026 academic year.
The event brought members of the campus community together to celebrate the educators and administrators shaping student success at Citrus College.
The annual gathering gives the campus community an opportunity to express appreciation for the dedication, service and lasting impact of its colleagues.
The reception highlighted 12 faculty members who reached the career milestone of gaining tenure. The 2025–2026 tenured faculty members are Spencer Boldt of automotive, Jessica Brown of kinesiology, Robert Chen of mathematics, Alexis Dea of cosmetology, Anthony Giammalva, Ed.D., of counseling, David Godoy of English, Darren Hall of library services, Albert Laicans of emergency medical technologies, Gilbert Marquez of digital/media arts, Nicole Povero of English, Tommy Reyes of architecture and drafting and Angelique Scheuermann, Ph.D., of chemistry.
The Board of Trustees also recognized 12 retiring employees, thanking them for their multiyear contributions to the institution’s administrative and academic framework. The 2025–2026 retirees are Gayle Allen, administrative secretary II; Lori Amato, administrative assistant to the vice president of finance and administrative services and facilities rental supervisor; Simone Brown Thunder, executive director of human resources; Thomas Eiland, language arts instructor; Michael Hillman, ceramics instructor; Coe Lamoureux, international student center supervisor; Christine Link, executive assistant to the superintendent/president; Ivon McCraven, director of continuing education; Rick Nguyenhuu, mathematics instructor; Victor Palomino, information technology support specialist I; Darla Ramirez, administrative secretary II; and Steve Siegel, skilled maintenance technician.
