Citrus begins search for next superintendent/president

Citrus College is beginning the search for its next superintendent/president. Current Superintendent/President Geraldine Perri announced in December that she will retire in July.

A superintendent/president search committee of 18 people led by Vice President of Finance and Administration Claudette Dain has been established to review applications and ensure the search is an equitable process, Board of Trustees member Laura Bollinger said in a phone interview.

“Our job is to make sure the policies written by the school are adhered to,” Bollinger said.

The Board of Trustees’ Administrative Policy 2431 details the superintendent/president selection process.

Board of Trustees President Patricia Rasmussen said in an email that the search committee is being trained in diversity, equity and inclusion. She said they have met twice to be trained in DEI and application review protocols.

PPL Inc. was selected by the Board of Trustees on Jan. 19 to be the outside search firm to search for applicants.

The Superintendent/President Search webpage lists important dates in the search process. Application reviews take place starting April 20, but Rasmussen estimated the finalist candidates won’t be known publicly until mid-May.

“There will be a public forum so each of the finalists can address the campus public,” Rasmussen said, which will be “a way to collect input” to be forwarded to the Board of Trustees before final interviews.

“We are following board policy as to how the process works and we’ve worked to ensure that as many campus groups as possible are part of it,” Rasmussen said. “Of course, it would be impossible to involve everyone at all levels, but everyone will be able to give the board input with this process.”
